FuelCell Energy (Danbury, CT) has shipped a 250kW Direct FuelCell power plant to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP, Los Angeles, CA). The power plant will be located at the downtown headquarters of the LADWP, providing electricity to the building and serving as an example of the distributed-generation capabilities of Direct FuelCells.
"The delivery of this power plant to the LADWP continues our march to commercialization," said Jerry Leitman, president and CEO of FuelCell Energy. "The LADWP and FuelCell Energy will gain operating data and on-site experience from this first-of-a-kind unit. This project, and others in the pipeline, will contribute to the commercial launch of our products later this year."
