FCT and SWPC Extend Joint Development Agreement

May 09, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Fuel Cell Technologies Corp. (FCT, Kingston, ON) announced that its second joint development agreement with Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. (SWPC, Orlando, FL), previously announced in July 2003, has been updated and extended to include supply of SWPC's standard tubular generator component subsystems for the manufacture of FCT's second-generation, 5 kW product throughout 2004 and into 2005.

The supply of tubular generator component subsystems will fully enable FCT to be responsive to its customer base and meet its current and future customer product deliveries. "The timely supply of these generator component subsystems will enable the planned growth of the company to be realized," said John Stannard, president and CEO of FCT.

"We're pleased to be able to deliver these key subsystems in a timely manner, thus permitting FCT to offer additional systems to the marketplace and accelerate the product validation of FCT's 5 kW systems, as well as further the advancement of our solid-oxide fuel cell technology," said Thomas Flower, president of SWPC's Stationary Fuel Cell Division.
