Energizer Announces Retirement of CEO Pat Mulcahy

Energizer Holdings Inc. (St. Louis, MO) announced that Pat Mulcahy will retire as Chief Executive Officer of the company immediately following the company's 2005 annual meeting of shareholders, to be held January 25, 2005. Upon Mulcahy's retirement, the board of directors has selected Chief Operating Officer Ward Klein to succeed Mulcahy as Chief Executive Officer, and has also nominated him for election to the board of directors at the annual meeting. Mulcahy will remain as a member of the board of directors, and upon his retirement will become Vice Chairman.
