EaglePicher Technologies LLC (Joplin, MO) has been awarded multiple contracts to supply its MSD-970-1 battery test system to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), a worldwide logistics combat support agency that distributes supplies and provides services throughout the US Department of Defense. The MSD Series performs complete battery testing, including charging, discharging, open-circuit stand and sensing of multiple battery parameters.

"EaglePicher is proud to support the US military and our troops around the world with high-performance power solutions that are portable, flexible and easy to use," said Lou Lupo, vice president and general manager of EaglePicher Defense and Space Power. "The MSD-970-1 battery test system complements EaglePicher’s broad range of power systems designed for the toughest defense applications."

The MSD-970-1 test system charges and discharges batteries with a wide range of voltages and has the ability to store up to 80 battery test profiles and serially stream test data to a PC for archiving and analysis. The test system can service any secondary battery chemistry with nominal battery voltage from 1 V to 36 V and charge/discharge currents ranging from 0.02 A to 70 A.
