Delta Approves Subscription of DelSolar Securities Through Private Placement; Announces Consolidated Sales Revenues for October

Delta Electronics, Inc. held a meeting of the Board of Directors, at which the Board approved a subscription of securities of DelSolar Co., Ltd. through private placement. The unit price of the subscription is NT$40 (approx. US$1.24) per share. The total amount is approximately NT$3,010,000,000 (US$93 million) with a maximum subscription amount of NT$3,400,000,000 (US$105 million). The company’s Chairman is authorized to arrange matters related to the investment.

Delta also announced that its consolidated sales revenues for October 2009 totaled NT$11,768 million (US$ 363 million), representing a 6% decrease as compared to NT$12,571 million (US$ 388 million) for September 2009 and a 9% decrease as compared to NT$12,937 million (US$ 383 million) for October 2008. The company’s cumulative consolidated sales revenues from January to October in 2009 were NT$100,908 million (US$ 3,120 million), an 18% decrease as compared to NT$123,663 million (US$ 3,824 million) for the same period last year.

Percentage of sales for each Business Group/Business Unit for October 2009 were as follows: Power Supplies Business Group – 56%; Components Business Group – 18%; Display Solutions Business Unit – 7%; Industrial Automation Business Unit – 6%; and Others – 13%.
