DC Power Systems and Solar Depot to Rename the Integrated Company, Soligent LLC

June 03, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

DC Power Systems and Solar Depot announced the renaming of the integrated company as Soligent, LLC, effective immediately.

Both companies, specialists in the renewable energy field, combined in February 2011 by parent company ITOCHU, to form what is described as the largest solar energy equipment distributor in the Americas. The combined entity continued using both established brand names through May 2012.

"Merging the brands into one name, Soligent, completes our transition to one company, one vision, one central purpose, to be the best equipment partner in solar energy," says Toshihiko Fujioka, CEO of Soligent, LLC.

Soligent supplies solar energy equipment and project financing solutions to contractors throughout the Americas. Geographic consolidation and operational efficiencies gained in the 2011 merger allowed the company to expand regional distribution centers to better serve a widespread customer base.

"The name change caps a multitude of improvement initiatives begun in 2011," says Fujioka. "For example, an intensive reorganization of supply chain operations is expected to increase on-time and in-full deliveries in 2012 to an industry-leading level. Also, our development of new, innovative residential and commercial project financing solutions puts Soligent in the forefront of financed solar energy."
