Vishay Adds FX5545G008 to FunctionPAK Family

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) is adding the new FX5545G008 synchronous buck converter to its FunctionPAK® family of single-package, fully integrated, dc/dc converters. The FX5545G008 is used in power supplies for cell phones, portable computers, digital cameras, routers, and other portable electronic systems. Additional applications include point-of-load power conversion for FPGAs, microprocessors, DSPs, and DDR SDRAM drivers.

The FX5545G008 is rated for a maximum output power of 3.6W and a maximum current of 3A; comes in a 20-port, surface-mount, 14.7mm x 12.2mm x 3mm BGA package; delivers a power density of more than 380W/in³ converts 2.5V to 6V inputs to a 0.8V to 1.2V output voltage; draws just 1µA of current in shutdown mode; delivers efficiency up to 91%; and is rated for the full industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
