Torex Introduces 700mA High-Speed LDO Regulator with Reverse Current Protection

November 15, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has developed a 700mA high-speed LDO regulator with reverse current protection. Featuring a reverse-current prevention function, the XC6227 Series of high-speed regulator ICs achieve high accuracy (±1%), high ripple rejection (65dB @ 1 kHz), and low dropout (120mV @ IOUT=300mA), and have a maximum output current of 700mA. These ICs use a high-speed negative feedback circuit to suppress output voltage fluctuations due to sharp changes of load current and supply stable power.

A reverse current protection function is included to protect the IC against reverse current when a voltage higher than the input voltage (VIN) is applied to the output pin. The devices are well suited for use as a back-up power supply. An operating voltage range from 1.7V is supported and low-voltage drive is possible.

The small USP-6C package (1.8 x 2.0 x h0.6mm) contributes to space-saving design. The SOT-25 and SOT-89-5 are also available. This is also an environment-friendly product that complies with the RoHS Directive of the EU and is Pb-free.
