Sipex Adds to its Family of Precision of Low Dropout Linear Regulators

June 29, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

Sipex Corp. announced the newest additions to its family of precision low dropout linear regulators: the SP6222 and SP6223. With 50mA and 150mA load capability respectively, the SP6222 and SP6223 are designed to meet a broad range of today's battery-operated portable and handheld applications that require high efficiency and clean output such as cellphones, PDAs, Smartphones, and Bluetooth® headsets.

The 1.6V low input operating voltage, in combination with the low dropout voltage of 200mV, allows for output voltage ranges between 1.4V and 0.9V required to power the new low voltages found in MCU and high-speed memory circuits

"The SP6222 and SP6223 are the newest additions to Sipex's growing family of LDOs, designed to address emerging low-power, low-voltage portable applications," said Chris Lee, Technical Marketing Manager. "Sipex is committed to providing solutions to support portable handheld applications."

The SP6222 and SP6223 are available in industry standard SOT23-5 or SC70-5 packaging, in an extended temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Pricing is $0.50 in 1K units.
