Power-One, Inc. announced the availability of its PVI-Central 50 and 100kW grid-tie, commercial-grade photovoltaic inverters for sale in North America. The inverter models, approved to UL1741, are known as the PVI-CENTRAL-50-US and PVI-CENTRAL-100-US, and employ 50 and 100kW subracks in a scalable architecture that facilitates application-optimized inverter solutions from 50 to 300kW.

Offering what the company calls industry-leading features and field-proven reliability, the PVI-CENTRAL-50-US and 100-US are installer friendly, providing reverse polarity protection, RS-485 communication interfaces, and a front-panel LCD display to provide real-time updates for critical operating parameters.

According to the company, these grid-connected products, having already demonstrated acceptance in European markets, provide a unique combination of high efficiencies (up to 95.8%; 95% CEC), long service life, and competitive initial acquisition costs, significantly increasing return on investment in photovoltaic installations.
