NMB Minebea Offers SD223U and SD224U Power Supplies

New Products Jul 02, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

NMB Minebea GmbH (UK) introduced two new switching power supply models, the 300W SD223U and the 350W SD224U, which have been optimized for use in workstation and network servers with AMD processors. The SD223U and the SD224U are five-output, fan-cooled, switching power supplies with an enhanced auxiliary supply that can provide 1.5A in sleep-mode, allowing system rapid resume and wake-up options to be implemented.

Both power supply units are cooled by a low-noise, 80mm, ball-bearing fan, and comply with EN61000-3-2 regulatory requirements for active power-factor correction. The devices offer a wide-range input of 90Vac to 264Vac and are tested for ambient temperatures up to 50 degrees C. The modules feature short-circuit, over-voltage and current protection on all outputs, which are SELV compliant. Both models are housed in an enhanced-airflow, PS2-style enclosure and are designed for industry-standard ATX compatibility.
