Encapsulated Power Supplies Deliver up to 20W

In response to the energy-saving and miniaturization demands of electronic end products, Mean Well Enterprises Company, Ltd. has introduced a new generation of ac-dc miniature encapsulated type power supplies, the IRM-05/10/15/20 series, with models from 5W to 20W. Compared to the company’s prior generation, the PM series, the new IRM series is much smaller (units measuring 45.7x25.4x21.5mm deliver up to 10W while units measuring 52.4x27.2x24mm deliver up to 20W) and features low no-load power consumption (<0. 1W), which allows the designers easily conform to the requirements of ErP norm (Energy-related Products) and EISA of USA for end systems.

IRM-05/10/15/20 series are 85- to 264-Vac full range input switchers that offer single output voltages from 3.3Vdc to 24Vdc. Featuring efficiencies up to 85%, these convection cooled units are specified for operation from -30 to +70℃. The fully encapsulated packaging can provide the basic ability of anti-moisture/dust, anti-vibration, as well as heat-conduction.

Complete protections include short circuit, overload, and over voltage. In addition, these new series feature Class II isolation, can withstand 5G vibration testing and comply with certificates per UL/CUL/TUV/CB/CE safety standards. Suitable applications include general electronic instruments, factory automation, electrical or mechanical equipment, and all usage that requires low no load power consumption.
