Eltek Valere Introduces Advanced Power Solutions for Next Generation Wireless Networks

New Products Mar 23, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

Eltek Valere announced its new high efficiency line of V Series rectifiers with new 48Vdc 1,500 and 2,000W rectifiers.

The V Series rectifiers are the heart of the company’s Compact DC Power System and Integrated DC Power System. These extremely popular systems are installed in thousands of wireless and remote terminal telecom locations worldwide. Based on Eltek Valere’s high-efficiency (HE) technology, the rectifiers provide up to 96 percent (peak) efficiency, offering new customers the ideal compact high-efficiency power solution. At the same time, existing V Series customers now have drop-in replacement modules that can cut in half the power wasted during the ac-dc power conversion process.

With the new rectifiers, Eltek Valere’s Compact and Integrated DC Power Systems can now provide up to 240 and 600A of power, respectively, with improved efficiency, lower operational expenses and a reduced impact on the environment.

"As carriers build out their wireless and wireline networks and push more functionality to the outside plant, having high power HE rectifiers will help them to manage their operating expenses while providing increased services," said David Leal, Vice President of Sales, North America. "These new rectifiers will help keep the best-selling Compact and Integrated DC Power Systems extremely relevant to carriers for years to come."

The new rectifiers feature a wide range of ac input voltage options (100 to 240V) and feature vertical airflow and high operating temperature rating for outdoor applications. A 24V, 1,500W version of the rectifier is also available for wireless applications.

Like the existing 1,000W V Series HE rectifier, the new units are only 2RU high. The high power density of these rectifiers means more space in outside plant cabinets, giving carriers the ability to locate more service-generation equipment close to the customer.
