Danaher Intros New Pacific Scientific Stepper System

July 08, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Danaher Motion (Radford, VA), a strategic business platform of Danaher Corp. (Washington, DC), introduced a complete, fully optimized, stepper solution consisting of a Pacific Scientific P7000 Series microstepping drive combined with a Pacific Scientific T, N or K Series stepper motor. The new combination is a suitable solution for single or multi-axis applications requiring high-speed performance or low-speed smoothness.

Pacific Scientific T, N or K Series stepper motors provide high torques, while the Pacific Scientific P7000 drives use multi-step positioning to convert full step indexing commands into smooth micro-stepping resolution. Currently available for ac operation, the system features a motion-node option and an RS232 or RS485 multi-drop serial interface with an industry-standard ModBus RTU protocol. Options to be available in the future include can-open and a full-featured indexer.
