Condor Adds GPFM1200 PFC Medical Power Supply

October 08, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Condor DC Power Supplies (Oxnard, CA) introduced a new addition to its line of medical power supply products, the GPFM1200, which is a 1,200W, switch-mode, dc power supply with an ac input of 85Vac to 264Vac, 47Hz to 63Hz single-phase, and an output of 48Vdc at 25A. The GPFM1200 offers electrical performance with power-factor correction (PFC) to EN61000-3-2 Class A and EMI filtering. The unit is fully enclosed in a compact 11in x 6in x 4in package for OEM medical device and distributed power applications.

The GPFM1200 power supply features 1,200W of continuous power; over-temperature shutdown with advance warning; external inhibit, enable, and ac-fail signals; and auxiliary voltage for peripheral logic. The supply eliminates isolation transformer requirement; allows the use of commercial, off-the-shelf, dc/dc converters in medical systems; and meets all medical EMC requirements.

The GPFM1200 is approved to UL2601-1, EN60601-1, and CSA-C22.2 No. 601.1 worldwide safety agency requirements for medical system applications. A CB certificate to the IEC60601-1 standard is available.
