Chroma Systems Solutions Introduces 61500 Series

June 18, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Chroma Systems Solutions (Irvine, CA) announced the availability of its new 61500 ac source series for worldwide-compliant and precompliance power standards testing. Offering a combination of high inrush current, 16-bit measurements and waveform programmability, this ac/dc source enables manufacturers to automate international ac power emissions and immunity standards tests. The system is designed for bench- or rack-mounted systems in the commercial, avionics, military, medical and telecommunications industries.

The 61500 features a PWM design that delivers a clean output waveform with, the company claims, the highest current crest factor (six times RMS) available in a programmable ac source. The Chroma 61500 enables users to perform fully compliant tests meeting IEC 61000-4-11, -13, -14, and -28 standards. With a 16-bit precision measurement circuit, the 61500 source series offers precompliance testing for IEC1000-3-2 and 1000-3-3 flicker and harmonics, as well as Japan's current harmonic standard. Fully compliant tests are achieved using Chroma's 6630 Power Analyzer and RegulationPro software, both options to the 61500.

The Chroma 61500 is available in single- or three-phase configurations. It is priced from $3,700 for a 500VA, single-phase unit (Model 61501). Delivery is from stock to four weeks ARO.
