Nichicon Corporation has launched sales of the UCQ series of chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitors for audio applications. These capacitors contribute to some of the best audio quality in the industry and are designed for use in all audio equipment but are especially suited high-end audio equipment.
Advancements and development of High-resolution audio are advancing not only in consumer equipment, but also in the development of equipment requiring high-audio quality in the automotive audio field, this leads to the demand for on-board components that deliver higher levels of sound quality.
Also, higher mounting densities due to miniaturization and higher performance are prompting a shift from lead-type to chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitors, making it essential to offer chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitors that achieve high audio quality.
By offering this series, Nichicon is responding to the need for surface mounting, which enables high mounting density. These new capacitors are also contributing to equipment featuring higher sound quality in the markets for car audio and audiovisual equipment.
This series achieves higher sound quality than the current UUQ series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors for 105°C audio. To realize sound quality that is ideal for car audio, the series employs a new type of specialized electrolytic paper for audio. To achieve ideal sound quality, the base material was carefully selected, adjusted the density and thickness of the electrolytic paper, and performed repeated listening evaluations.
This capacitor offers superb audio resolution, reducing the amount of stress a listener might experience. Using this series should contribute to equipment featuring high sound quality. The product is guaranteed to 2,000 hours at 105°C (1,000 hours at 105°C for some sizes).
