Celeritek Announces CMM1430-KU Power Amplifier

New Products Apr 03, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Celeritek Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) announced the availability of a 1W power amplifier for transmit subsystem functions in Ku-band VSAT applications, the CMM1430-KU, which complements the company's current MMIC amplifier offerings. With Celeritek's in-house pHEMT high-volume foundry, performance is guaranteed through on-wafer RF testing and 100-percent dc testing of the final assembly.

The amplifier operates from 13.75GHz to 14.50GHz, and offers 34.5dB of linear gain, 32dBm saturated output power and 50 ohm internal matching. The CMM1430-KU is packaged in a space-efficient flange package designed with a base material of gold-plated copper/moly composite, which offers good thermal dissipation. Reduced circuit board space and cost is further achieved through minimal external circuitry for bias and matching.

Samples of the CMM1430-KU and evaluation test fixtures are available from stock. Volume quantities of 1,000 per month are priced at $35 per unit and are available in plastic trays.
