Artesyn Technologies Launches New NLP150L Power Supply

December 17, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Artesyn Technologies (Ireland) has launched a 150W ac/dc open-frame power supply, the NLP150L. The new power supply has a small 3.8" x 7.8" footprint and a height of 1.26". It is power-factor corrected to meet the forthcoming EN61000-3-2 standard, and is available with one to four outputs. The multiple output versions feature two high-current, low-voltage channels that support current sharing and are specifically designed for powering next-generation networking equipment with a heavy logic content, such as access concentrators and shared media hubs.

The NLP150L Series offers a choice of multiple output versions to help support the industry transition from 5V to 3.3V logic, as well as single output 5.1V and 3.3V models. All of the power supplies have a 90Vac to 264Vac universal input range, and accommodate mains frequencies from 47Hz to 63Hz, making them suitable for international use. The power supplies have a conversion efficiency of about 73 percent and a maximum ripple of 50mV peak-to-peak. Additionally, Artesyn claims that they are fully protected against short-circuit and over-voltage conditions.

The NLP150L Series power supplies are fully compliant with the EN55022-B conducted noise and EN55022-A radiated noise standards, and they meet all applicable immunity standards, including EN61000-4-s, -3, -4, -5 and -6. They carry comprehensive UL, CSA and VDE safety approval and are CE-marked.
