75-Watt AC-DC Front-End Supply Offers EMC Immunity
Power-One, Inc. has introduced its new 75-watt PLP75-1012G ac-dc power supply. This 12-volt-output product offers excellent electromagnetic compatibility immunity, is hazardous substance (RoHS) compliant for the reduction of all six substances, and fits within 1U height constraints, company officials said.
The PLP75-1012G has a variety of applications, including use as a front end for point-of-load converters, or for powering electro-mechanical devices such as fans, in telecom/datacom, and industrial environments.
High efficiencies and advanced thermal management techniques help in providing 75 watts with only 5 cubic feet per minute forced-air cooling, and 65 watts with only convection cooling, company officials said. This relatively small airflow requirement eliminates the need for this 3 inch by 5 inch (76.2 x 127mm) power supply to be directly adjacent to a cooling fan, allowing greater flexibility in overall system design.
In addition, a low 1.38 inch (35.1mm) profile reduces airflow shadowing, increasing cooling for downstream devices.
Company officials said the PLP75-1012G offers excellent EMC immunity and meets EN 61000 standards for electrostatic discharge, radio frequency susceptibility, fast transient/burst, surge, RF immunity, magnetic fields, and voltage interruptions. Other features include .99 power factor correction, 85 to 264V ac universal input, and the CE Mark for the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD).
Pricing is $45 each in quantities of 250. Samples are usually available from stock. Production quantities are typically available in eight to 12 weeks.
Power-One products power high-availability infrastructure applications such as: routers, data storage and servers, wireless communications, optical networking, medical diagnostic, railway controls, and semiconductor test equipment.
