4-Output High-Voltage Power Supply for Electrostatic Processing Applications

July 02, 2013 by Jeff Shepard

LHV Power Corporation has introduced a high-voltage, low-power electrostatic power supply for use in such electrostatic processing applications as water descaling. Model LHV24-30KP4-5214 has four independently operating 7-watt positive-polarity, 30-kilovolt output channels, each with LED normal/fault indicators and safety features that include redundant over-current shutdown, latch-off circuitry, and total output protection from short circuits.

The new power supply is equipped with deep-recessed, high-voltage poke-home connectors and, for added safety, a fused universal ac 3-wire grounded input line cord. The product features a green LED indicator and a double pole power switch for controlling and monitoring ac power input. It’s built-in line-operated ac-dc (universal ac to 24Vdc) power supply has received world safety and EMI approvals, and its dc-to-high-voltage output converter is designed to meet UL/CSA UL867/CSA187 standards.

Fully potted for operation in wet locations, LHV24-30KP4-5214 units provide a complete solution from line to high voltage for applications such as treatment of non-potable water, desalinization and descaling. The units measure 10.2 inches long x 6.2 inches wide x 3.2 inches high (259 x 158 x 81 millimeters) and weigh 10.5 pounds (4.8 kilograms). The LHV24-30KP4-5214 power supply comes with a two-year warranty and is priced at $795 for a single unit and $675 each for OEM quantities of 1,000 units or more. Availability is stock to eight weeks.
