Understanding Fast Charging

We own a mobility scooter with a li-ion battery having the following specs:
Rated Capacity = 10.88 Ah
Rated Voltage = 25.2
Watt Hour = 274.4
Chemical System = Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt oxide

It came with a 120VAC brick style charger, outputting 29.2VDC 2.5A.

Using this charger, it takes between 4 to 5 hours to get a full charge. This is a problem if we’re traveling somewhere and we need to recharge to get back to our hotel, takes too long.

With smartphones over the last few years, they have introduced fast charging. I don’t know if this is a function of a different battery configuration, or just a higher amperage charger plus improved cable set from the charger to the device.

Is there a way to speed up the charging process by using a higher amperage charger?
