Synergy ScienTech to Expand Production Capacity

February 28, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Synergy ScienTech Corp. (Taiwan) recently completed development of its polymer lithium-ion battery, called Synergy. The company reports that it has begun to accept orders for the product, and expects the number of orders to be so great that production capacity will be in order.

Located at Hsinchu Science Industrial Park, Synergy ScienTech is currently able to manufacture 150,000 batteries monthly. In order to meet the expected increase in orders, however, the company is due to expand its monthly capacity to one million units by the end of this year, according to J. M. Wang, general manager of SYNeregy. Wang said the capacity-expansion project would increase the number of related production lines from two to four.
