SatCon Technology Corp. (Cambridge, MA) announced that it has received an order for 23 PowerGate power-conversion units from H Power Corp. (Clifton, NJ). SatCon has been working with H Power for the past year and has delivered initial prototype units for evaluation.

"This is another step in the process of commercializing fuel cell power generation systems," said David Eisenhaure, SatCon's president and CEO. "We've been working with H Power for some time now. We delivered prototype units to them and have modified them to meet their specifications. Progress has been encouraging since our first delivery. I think H Power has made some terrific advances in commercializing their fuel cell system and we're excited to see them ordering these PowerGate converters for use in their residential cogeneration units."

H. Frank Gibbard, CEO of H Power, commented, "We are very pleased to be working with SatCon. SatCon has been very responsive in providing H Power with power-conversion units tailored to meet our specifications and system requirements. SatCon's power-conversion units have enabled us to enhance RCU system performance, and we look forward to working with them in the future."
