O2Micro International Ltd. (George Town, Grand Cayman), a supplier of power management and security ICs to mobile computer and communications manufacturers, was granted six claims under United States patent number 6,809,938 for its adaptive inverter controller. The patented inverter controller technology supports a low-cost dc-ac inverter solution for liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors and LCD television applications.
"The patented, simple, high-efficiency solution offers customers a strong competitive edge for LCD Monitor and television applications," said Yung Lin, O2Micro's executive vice president of the Intelligent Lighting Business Unit.
