Matsushita Electric Opens Suzhou Facility

Matsushita Electric Ind. Co. Ltd. (China) announced the official inauguration of its Suzhou facility, named Suzhou Matsushita Semiconductor Co. Ltd., which was set up in December 2001 with a total investment of ¥2.5 billion ($21 million). The facility covers an area of 10,200m² has a workforce of 200 employees, and will mainly produce super-miniature, surface-mount discrete devices for mobile phones, A/V products and DVD players.
