IEC Awards Distribution Contract to Siemens PTD

Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution Inc. (Raleigh, NC), a subsidiary of Siemens Corp. and an affiliate of Siemens AG (Munich, Germany), announced that its Energy Management and Information Systems Division has been awarded a contract for a new distribution management system (DMS) by Israel Electric Corp. (IEC).

The new DMS will provide IEC with more reliable energy and enhanced outage-management capabilities. The system is based on Siemens SINAUT™ Spectrum software.

The turnkey project includes all related communication network and field equipment, is valued at $48.0 million, and has additional options valued at $29.0 million for future expandability and functionality. The DMS consists of five separate systems, being installed at five different sites.
