Evox Rifa to Reorganize European Production

Evox Rifa Group Oyj (Finland) announced that the consultations with the trade unions in Gränna, Sweden, have been finalized. Evox Rifa will expand its production and increase investments in Weymouth, Great Britain, but is also planning to continue production with respect to one product line in Gränna. Negotiations on personnel reductions in Gränna will be initiated immediately.

The Weymouth plant in Great Britain will expand its screw terminal production. The investments and production transfers related to screw terminals will be finalized by summer 2004. Focusing all screw terminal production into one, major plant will significantly increase Evox Rifa’s capability to supply customers with innovative and cost effective solutions worldwide.

Evox Rifa has decided to further develop the axial electrolytic capacitor business with a main focus towards the lighting and automotive industry. The company has presented a plan to continue the production of axial electrolytic capacitors in Gränna with a flexible and lean organisation. The solution will guarantee the availability of Evox Rifa’s continued expertise and service of axial leads and related products in the short term in Gränna, and allows a long-term strategy with global productiom capability.
