ERNI Electronics (Midlothian, VA) reported that it has opened a service and sales office in San Jose, California. The new office, with an applications engineer and three direct sales people, ensures responsiveness for ERNI's Silicon Valley and western-region customers. The San Jose office is the company's latest investment in serving the North American market.
ERNI has also seen a significant increase in sales in 2005. The company's second-quarter 2005 sales were up over 10 percent from the same period in 2004, and July 2005 sales surged 24 percent over July 2004. A large proportion of the sales increases are being fueled by demand for the company's ERmet 2 mm and ERmet ZD high-speed backplane connectors. There has also been a surge in demand for the company's 1.27 mm pitch SMC connectors.
