Darnell Unveils New AC-DC Power Supplies Report

June 02, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Darnell Group Inc. (Corona, CA) announced publication of its latest report, "AC-DC Power Supplies: Global Market Forecasts and Competitive Environment, Seventh Edition." The new 318-page report provides a detailed and in-depth examination of the ac-dc power supply market and the trends driving the market. Included are discussions of application trends, changes in business models, government regulations and regional dynamics that influence the ac-dc power supply market.

Several positive economic reports and strong earnings releases indicate that the global economy is hitting its stride following the doldrums of the last few years. As the global economy has picked up, the demand for embedded ac-dc power supplies has followed. Between 2004 and 2009, worldwide embedded ac-dc power supply revenue is projected to increase by an average of 5.9% per year, starting from a base of $9.4 billion. Regional variances play a vital role in determining the worldwide growth rate. China is projected to be the fastest-growing unit market and North America is projected to hold the fastest-growing dollar market. Blade servers, storage, special systems and Power-over-Ethernet will drive the power supplies market, while the continued rise of notebook computers will slightly impede growth.

In addition to presenting worldwide forecasts for the market, the AC-DC Power Supplies report provides regional forecasts for North America, Europe, Asia (excluding China) and China. The new seventh edition is the first edition that specifically forecasts China on its own. Furthermore, each forecast is dissected and presented with a variety of breakouts, including wattage categories, design type, package style and application. Additionally, given the breadth of the communications and computer application segments, the segments are further divided into several sub-segments. Each forecast provides unit sales, dollar sales and pricing information. The forecast data are presented in numerous formats in this report, including 100-plus graphs and 120-plus tables.

The new AC-DC Power Supplies report also analyzes the competitive environment in this market, including profiles of over 40 power supply manufacturers. Additionally, the chapter includes market share for the top five competitors in each region with the exception of China.

The AC-DC Power Supplies is now available.
