September 13, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

All American Semiconductor, Inc. announced a global distribution agreement with BEAR Power Supplies. All American will market, stock and distribute BEAR's standard line of rugged miniature ac-dc power converters for commercial, medical and industrial applications. BEAR's encapsulated power modules feature long life and high reliability over a wide -40 to +70°C operating temperature range. They are available from 5 to 30W, with universal input (90 to 264Vac) and single output from 3.3 to 48V. All power modules feature active inrush current limiting for long life and fewer nuisance fuse failures or tripped breakers.

"In response to a strong interest from our customers who require a rugged ac-dc converter with a very wide operating temperature range we have added BEAR Power Supplies to our line card," said Priscilla McConnell, Vice President of Marketing for All American. "BEAR power modules are exceptionally compact, convenient and reliable. They fill a need for designers making equipment destined for harsh environments, such as outdoor or factory settings."

"This partnership with All American will dramatically expand our sales reach and presence in the electronic component marketplace," said Peter Growney, Global Sales Manager at BEAR. "We are very impressed with All American's technical expertise in power, and their ability to bring our products to the right engineers around the world. With their global distribution network and a new Power Center in San Jose, All American will accelerate the already rapid acceptance of this unique product."
