1st Silicon Names Chris Seams to BOD

1st Silicon Sdn. Bhd. (Sarawak, Malaysia) announced that Chris Seams, executive vice president of technology development and worldwide wafer operations of Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (San Jose, CA), has joined 1st Silicon's board of directors.

Prior to joining Cypress in 1990, Seams worked in several engineering and technology development and management positions at Advanced Micro Devices (Austin, TX) and Philips Components (Eindhoven, the Netherlands).

Datuk J.C. Fong, chairman of 1st Silicon, said, "With his wealth of experience in the semiconductor industry, and his strong background in manufacturing, the addition of Chris Seams as a new board member will benefit 1st Silicon significantly."

Seams commented, "I am excited about the opportunity to be part of a growing emerging foundry like 1st Silicon. I am looking forward to gaining valuable manufacturing insights while contributing towards the success of a venture with a strong and committed team of board members, management and staff."
