July 12, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

PowerGate LLC introduced the PMP150 series of external desktop power supplies with medical safety approvals. High efficiency operation in excess of 85% and no load power consumption of less than 0.5W enable these products to meet both current and pending "Green power" requirements, the most stringent being the California Energy Commission (CEC Level IV) going into effect January 2008.

The PMP150 series of external desktop power supplies are suitable for patient vicinity and gaming applications requiring up to 150W of external power with IEC60601-1 creepage and leakage requirements. These supplies are packaged in a UL94V-1 rated enclosure measuring only 8.17 x 3.00 x 1.57". Standard features include universal ac input with active power factor correction; single output voltages of 12/15/19/24/27/48 Vdc; LED Power-On indicator; full load operation over a 0~40°C operating temperature range; and high reliability >150k hours MTBF. Product approvals are in process for UL/cUL60601-1/TUV EN60601-1 safety standards, the product is RoHS compliant and will carry the CE mark and meet Class B emission standards.

Evaluation units are available 2 weeks ARO and once product has full certifications, standard lead time for production volume will up to 8 weeks. Standard pricing is as low as $89.75 for 1000 pieces.
