Power Air Corp. Announces OEM-Ready Primary Zinc Air Cell
Power Air Corp. announced an OEM-ready, primary zinc air cell ("ZCell") specifically designed and suitable for integration into mobile electronic devices by OEM partners.
"Power Air is very pleased that we have succeeded in developing a unique power source for mobile electronic devices that outperforms current battery products in terms of cost, safety, form factor and run time," stated Donald Ceci, President and CEO of Power Air. "Supplying our ZCells to OEM partners for integration into their end-user products will allow us to collaborate on the development of multiple end-user products with the same ZCell power source inside."
The company’s new ZCell packs 30W-hours of energy into a cell that weighs less than 100 grams with a volume of only 50 cubic centimeters. The Zcell’s energy content is rated from lab tests at 1W power, but it also has demonstrated very strong performance under more demanding, high-power requirements suitable for the new generation of power-hungry mobile devices. For example, the ZCell can operate for over five hours while continuously discharging at 3W power.
Power Air is currently providing ZCells, under non-disclosure, for testing and evaluation with the goal of OEM integration into end-user mobile devices by major electronic companies. The company has the ability to customize the ZCell for specific OEM specifications relating to various size, power and energy requirements.
