Micrel Debuts MIC5233/MIC5235 LDO Regulators

May 05, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Micrel Semiconductor Inc. (San Jose, CA) introduced its new MIC5233 and MIC5235 LDO regulators that consume 18µA while supplying an output of 100mA and 150mA, respectively, making them suitable for standby applications in portable and fixed power-sensitive systems.

Part of the company's IttyBitty family, both regulators are housed in a SOT-23-5 package and feature µCap capability, which allows the use of ceramic or tantalum capacitors for stability. The MIC5233 supports an input between 2.3V to 36V, while the MIC5235 supports 2.3V to 24V. They have fixed outputs of 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, 3.5V and 5V, but also offer adjustable outputs.

The MIC5233 and MIC5235 are priced at $1 and $0.84, respectively, in quantities of 1,000.
