HiTek Power (Santee, CA) introduced two new families of compact, high-voltage power supply modules (Series D and Series E) that are suitable for a wide range of applications, including ultrasonic transducers, gamma cameras, photomultiplier tubes, electron beam deflection, spectroscopes, scintillation counters and electrostatic lenses. Providing 10W and 5W of output power, respectively, the Series D and E units are packaged smaller than most competitive power supplies, yield low output noise, feature a low-temperature coefficient, and are adjustable down to 0V with stability throughout the adjustment range.
The seven members of the D Series offer output voltages ranging from 0Vdc to 5,00Vdc and 0Vdc to 7,000Vdc. Ripple is less than 10mV for the 0V to 500V model and less than 200mV for the 0V to 7,000V model. The units are supplied in a compact, flat-pack module only 8in³ in size, approximately 2in x 4in x 1in (100mm x 50mm x 25mm). The five members of the E Series have output ranges from 0Vdc to 500Vdc and 0Vdc to 3,000Vdc, with a respective ripple of less than 10mV and 50mV. The modules are only 4.5in³ in size, approximately 2in x 2in x 1in (50mm x 50mm x 25mm).
Both families are available as positive or negative output versions. Input voltage is 11.5Vdc to 15Vdc or 22Vdc to 32Vdc, and line and load regulation is better than 0.01 percent. The power supplies can be adjusted by means of a remote-adjust voltage or a programming resistor, with Series D also adjustable via a 10-turn screwdriver-adjustable potentiometer located on the top surface. Both series provide voltage monitor and current monitor signals and incorporate a remote enable pin.
The Series D and E units are fully encapsulated in UL-approved, thermally-conductive material and are packaged in an anodized aluminum case that provides electrostatic shielding. The Series D and E power supplies are priced starting at $450 and $525, respectively, in production quantities and come with a one-year warranty. Availability is stock to 12 weeks.
