Filters from XP Power Meet Mil Specs
XP Power has introduced a filtering and active surge suppression module that enables fast design of military specification (MIL STD) power systems using industrial dc-dc converters. It reduces design time and cost, and reduces system time-to-market.
The DSF200LV is a 200-Watt unit for use in 24/28V power systems in military vehicles, aircraft and naval vessels. It enables system compliance with MIL-STD 461E CE102 and DEF STAN 59-41 DCE01/DCE02 for electromagnetic compatibility and MIL-STD 1275A/B and DEF STAN 61-5 Part 6 for surge and transient suppression. The module has an input voltage range of 9 to 36Vdc and is clamped at a maximum output voltage of 36Vdc. It is rated at 7A continuous output with a baseplate temperature between -40 °C and +100 °C.
The filter is 92% to 98% efficient, so generates minimal heat. Under no-load conditions it consumes 50 microamps. The device has low-loss reverse voltage protection and has a series resistance of 0.26 Ohms. It has been tested and proven with XP Power's JTA, and ICH Series dc-dc converters.
The DSF200LV measures 2.41 inches x 1.45 inches x 0.51 inches (61.2mm x 36.8mm x 13mm). It is designed for PCB mounting and is housed in a plated steel case with an aluminum baseplate for cooling.
Units are available now priced at $151 each for 1,000 piece quantities.
