Eltek Valere MicroShelf Adds Rack Mount Flexibility for 4G and Broadband Telecom Edge Networks
Eltek Valere announced its new MicroShelf rack-mounted dc power system, the latest enhancement to its Micropack DC power system designed for use with smaller loads.
Broadband and 4G wireless systems are being widely deployed in edge network environments and telecommunications providers require compact dc power systems that are cost-effective for the application without sacrificing the reliability, control and distribution options of a central office system.
The new MicroShelf system consists of Micropack power rectifiers, distribution and control in a protective enclosure that is easily rack mounted, allowing ready access to rectifiers and distribution. With operational capacity of up to 1000W (at 220Vac), the MicroShelf system is the ideal solution for mounting indoors or in an outdoor enclosure.
"The demand for high-speed business networks is driving an increasing need for small but convenient dc power systems," said Allen Pitts, President of the Americas for Eltek Valere. "The MicroShelf offers enhanced flexibility for installation and operation of our innovative Micropack power system, enabling providers to install cost-effective indoor and outdoor solutions for their customers."
A MicroShelf system offers two or four positions for Micropack 250W rectifiers, a Compack controller for advanced monitoring and control, and distribution that includes either bulk feed or plug-in style breakers.
The rectifier is convection cooled for installation in harsh and noise-sensitive environments. Extensive input operating and temperature ranges give the system a true wide data and telecom network application approach. The Compack controller provides broad functionality, including Ethernet-based remote or local monitoring and control via web browser and automatic battery monitoring and test.
