March 15, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Ceramate Technical Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) debuted its CP431 and CP1032 regulator ICs, which are designed for use in LCD monitors, car navigation systems and switching power supplies. The CP1032 chopper regulator has an oscillation frequency of 150 kHz, a maximum switching current of 3.5 A, a variable output voltage, and an output variable range of Vref to 35 V/-Vref to -30 V. Housed in a TO-263-5 package, the device also has over-heat protection and over-current shut-down functions.

The CP431 adjustable, precision shut regulator comes with precision reference voltages of 2.495 V ±1 percent (CP431) and 2.495 V ±0.5 percent (CP431A), a sink current capability of 200 mA, a minimum cathode current for regulation of 300 µA, a dynamic output impedance of 0.2 ohms, and a full-range temperature coefficient of 30 ppm/°C. Featuring a programmable output voltage to 36 V, the product has a fast turn-on response and low output noise. It is offered in TO92 and SOT23 packages.
