C&D Technologies Adds 19” Powershelf to Simplify Design and Shorten Time-to-Market

The Power Electronics Division of C&D Technologies has introduced a new powershelf that is designed to accommodate up to three of the company's D1U ac-dc front-end power supplies in parallel. The S1U-3X is intended to alleviate the need for designers to develop a custom chassis to accommodate multiple power supply modules.

The 1U high, 19" powershelf accommodates three D1U power supplies, is fully compatible with standard 19" rack systems, and allows hot docking and removal. The S1U holds multiple D1U power supplies in parallel, ensuring that a standard 19" power shelf can be used instead of designing a chassis to fit the D1U power supply. The S1U is a standard product rather than a custom design, has no NRE and therefore less development effort, and has a shorter time to market.
