Asymmetrical Output DC-DCs Optimized for IGBT Driver

November 22, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Mornsun has introduced the QAxx1 series dc-dc converters specialized for use as IGBT drivers. This series integrate driver IC features and provides a +15/-8.0 Vdc asymmetrical output voltage which maximizes IGBT drive efficiency. With output current up to 120mA, it meets the drive power requirement of a variety of IGBTs.

This series also features high efficiency up to 81%, operating temperature of -40 to +105 degrees C (these converters deliver full-rated power up to 85 degrees C and derate linearly to 50% power at 105 degrees C), ultra-low isolation capacitance (6pF), maximum capacitive load (1000uF) and 3000Vac isolation. Input voltage options include 12Vdc, 15Vdc and 24Vdc.

Packaged in a miniature SIP configuration, QAxx1 series dc-dc converters feature short-circuit protection and auto-recovery, and are designed for use in general inverter designs, ac servo drive systems, electric welding machines, uninterruptible power supplies, motor drives, and similar designs. They offer an MTBF of 3.5 million hours per MIL-HDBK-217F at 25 degrees. These SIP packaged dc-dc converters measure 19.50 x 9.80 x 12.50mm and weigh 4.3g.
