TDK Presenting Range of Power Conversion Components

October 15, 2014 by Power Pulse1595211359

Under the motto "Superior Solutions for a Smart World" TDK Corp. is presenting its innovative and comprehensive range of EPCOS and TDK products for the entire spectrum of electronics applications at electronica 2014, Hall B5, Stand 506. TDK will be highlighting its electronic components, modules and systems according to both the underlying technologies as well as the markets we serve with a focus on Automotive, Industrial/Energy and Communications applications.

The exhibits include a wide selection of standard and application-specific solutions. Highlights include aluminum electrolytic capacitors with significantly increased ripple current capability for industrial frequency converters, motor chokes for up to 1500A for the output side of frequency converters and new CeraLinkâ„¢ capacitors that can be embedded in IGBT modules as dc link or snubber solutions. CeraPlasâ„¢, a piezo generator of cold plasma for surface treatment, which is significantly smaller than conventional solutions and is now being presented to a broad industry audience for the first time.

The third generation of EPCOS piezo actuators with copper internal electrodes features an actuator performance that is 20 percent higher than that of conventional designs and a billion switching cycles without failures at 170 degrees C, thus setting the benchmark with respect to operating life. Also being exhibited are common-mode chokes for automotive Ethernet, which offer the world’s best noise suppression, and miniaturized MEGACAP Type MLCCs.

The new high-performance GPS front-end modules for smartphones are the best in their class. In addition, the ultra-compact Bluetooth low energy modules designed for the Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (LE) specification, which is being marketed as Bluetooth Smart, are the world’s smallest of their kind for Bluetooth Smart devices. Thanks to its compact size, the new module is very well suited for use in emerging wearable devices.
