May 20, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Micro Linear Corp. (San Jose, CA) announced it is cutting 37 jobs and will consolidate some functions at its San Jose headquarters. The chip maker, which manufactures RF transceivers and WLAN chipsets, is still suffering under the downturn. The job cuts will come from all operational segments across the company.

"These are difficult times in our market," said Tim Richardson, president and CEO. "Our focus remains the development of highly integrated, low-cost RFICs and solutions that serve a variety of markets and customers that continue to have promise for the future."
