Methanex Corp. (Canada), Mitsubishi and Mitsui are pleased to announce that Marubeni Corp. (Vancouver) has joined the Alliance to promote the introduction of methanol fuel cell applications in Japan. Marubeni brings added expertise in fuel distribution and retailing to the Alliance.
Marubeni has a methanol distribution system in Japan with the potential to be significantly expanded to facilitate the introduction of methanol fuel cell vehicles. Marubeni also has the potential to sell methanol through its network of retail service stations throughout Japan. Marubeni sees the introduction of methanol fuel cell vehicles in Japan as a new and environmentally friendly opportunity for their retail fuel business.
