January 11, 2018 by Paul Shepard

Nova Electric, a division of Technology Dynamics Inc., has announced the launch of their new WNMGL series of wall mount enclosed inverters.  These pure sinewave inverters are rated at 2kVA and 3kVA and were specifically designed for on-board railway applications requiring 72Vdc input (50- to 90-Vdc) and 115Vac single-phase 60Hz pure sinewave output.

The series has standard protection features of OVP, OLP and OTP. They also meet Standards for Fixed Gateway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems code NFPA130:2010 and the code for Safe Electrical Design and installation of NFPA 70 NEC 2011 for Fire Protection Standards. The cabinet size is 14” high by 17” wide by 5.27” deep, and weighs 35 lbs.

This inverter family has been fully qualified to meet all the North American, South American, and EU performance, EMI, safety and environmental specifications for use to power on-board passenger applications for mobile and wireless connectivity, ICT solutions and entertainment services with worldwide railway manufacturers.

The inverters are wall mounted inside the engine room of the locomotive to power on-board railway applications throughout the train coaches and are currently supporting the North America market with plans to support the EU market in 2018.
