Infineon Offers BAR88-02L/BAR89-02L Diodes

October 09, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Infineon Technologies AG (Germany) announced the new BAR88-02L and BAR89-02L high-performance PIN diodes, which are said to set new standards in antenna switch designs for 2.5G and 3G terminals, as well as for Bluetooth and WLAN applications. Both diodes offer low current consumption, allowing optimized standby and talking times of cellular terminals.

The BAR89-02L is optimized with low forward resistance, providing low insertion loss in front-end modules, while the BAR88-02L is intended for ultra-low-current applications. Both are housed in the company's TSLP-2 package, offering reduced parasitics, which is essential for devices working up to 2.5GHz. Overall dimensions measure only 1mm x 0.6mm x 0.4mm, meeting the reduced space requirements for mobile and module applications.
