Voltree Power Hires Uli Altvater as Chief Technology Officer
Voltree Power Inc. announced that it has hired Ulrich "Uli" Altvater as Chief Technology Officer. Voltree Power’s energy harvesting technologies provide practical, cost-effective and innovative sensing solutions for agricultural, environmental and natural resource preservation. Uli brings vast relevant experience to Voltree Power, with his background in starting and growing cutting-edge wireless technology businesses.
Uli was granted seven wireless mesh network-related patents across the US and Europe during his career, including the first one ever granted. With more than 30 years of technology business experience, he started his career as an IBM software developer in Germany. He founded and ran three successful technology businesses in Germany that designed hardware and software systems for the German Navy and Air Force, and more recently established the first German wireless Internet access technology company. In 2004, Uli moved to the United States and worked as CEO of TRIMAX Wireless, where he designed large-scale wireless platforms, hybrid wireless networking systems, and a Smart Grid Platform for the power industry.
"Since I invented synchronized wireless mesh networks in 1996, I have focused my career on continuously advancing wireless technologies," said Uli. "As environmental issues become increasingly important worldwide, Voltree Power is developing a new type of sensor solution that harvests its own energy, is optimized for ultra-low power, and can run without the cost of maintenance for more than 20 years. This is a huge, brand new market opportunity, Voltree Power has secured the right patents, and I’m excited to help them introduce a new type of sensory data collection capability."
"We have spent the last couple of years developing our products and solutions, talking with governments and businesses around the globe, and validating our market viability," said Stella Karavas, founder and CEO of Voltree Power. "Uli will help us take Voltree to the next level. His technology background is a direct fit, he has extensive experience developing large integrated wireless systems, he’s a phenomenal business manager, and extremely well connected. We are thrilled to have him on board."
