STM Sues BROADCOM for Patent Infringement

STMicroelectronics Inc. (STM, Geneva, Switzerland) announced that it has filed a lawsuit for patent infringement against Broadcom Corp. The lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The lawsuit alleges that Broadcom infringes US patents 5,031,092; 5,347,185; 5,515,225; 5,946,261; 6,025,746 and 6,087,709. The six patents cover technology used in various semiconductor products, including products used in cable modem, set top box, and high-speed networking applications.
