Qualstar Corp. (Simi Valley, CA) announced that it has acquired the assets and intellectual properties of open-frame, switching-power supply developer and manufacturer N2Power Inc. (Newbury Park, CA). The transaction, for an undisclosed amount, will be accounted for as an asset purchase.
N2Power will be relocated within Qualstar’s main facility in Simi Valley and will be managed by founder David Barton. N2Power products will continue to be sold through existing channels and to original equipment manufacturers.
Qualstar President and CEO William Gervais stated, "Acquiring N2Power allows us to leverage the advantages inherent in their unique technology in our tape library designs, beginning with our new RLS Series tape libraries."
