January 17, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

The 24th International Telecommunications Energy Conference (INTELEC 2002) will be held September 29 through October 3, 2002, in Montreal. Covering power system and energy-storage applications in the telecommunications industry, INTELEC provides an opportunity for network operators and designers to interact directly with the designers, manufacturers and distributors of power equipment. Over 1,500 participants from more than 50 countries are expected to attend.

The 2002 theme, "Reliable Energy: The Driving Force Behind Dependable Communications," highlights the vital importance of the energy and storage system in the current environment of critical energy shortages on the utility grid.

INTELEC 2002 will include an expanded professional development program conducted by experts in telecommunications energy systems technology. Basic and advanced courses in telecom energy systems will be offered in a parallel session over the four days of the conference. Attendees of the program will be able to earn academic (CEU) credits by their participation.
